Ready for bed!

Kaden is doing very well adjusting to sleeping in his crib. We stopped swaddling him because he was starting to wiggle out of his blanket every night, so we have started putting him in his sleep sacks. He is a great sleeper- he will usually stay down anywhere from 6-8 hours after his last feeding. He is also napping in his crib throughout the day, which has allowed Lucas & I to get things done around the house as needed.

We were very excied to meet Helena, Luanne's daughter, today when we went to visit Alison. She is two weeks older than Kaden and very cute!

Kaden enjoyed his short nap in the sunshine on Sunday. It was almost 70 degrees and was even warmer today. We love North Carolina!

Four Week Doctor Appointment

We had Kaden's four week appointment this morning. He now weighs 9 lbs 14 oz and is 21 3/4 inches. His weight and height are both right around the 50 percentile. Dr Catchings was very pleased with his progress. While he was showing how strong his neck was while on his tummy, he rolled over to his back for the first time! It was a very exciting moment for all of us!

Bath time!

Kaden does a great job at bath time. Besides peeing on us every now and then, he is an angel in the tub. We are still sponge bathing him because his cord has not fallen off yet. Hopefully he will experience a real bath soon!

Dinner at the Schumann's

Matt & Tammy had us over for a delicious dinner last night. Kaden was very entertained as he watched us rock out on Guitar Heroes III. Matt, Lucas, & Jason truly rock, while Ali, Mark & I could use some rehearsal time.

A smile???

Kaden is right on the verge of smiling. He has had a few big smiles, but they have been followed by messy diapers. This one was soon followed by a trip to the changing table.

Amazingly enough, these pictures were taken 6 hours after this outfit was put on, and there is still no spit on the shirt. This is a new record for us.

Kaden is already a fan of shopping. He was very impressed with the clearance rack at Old Navy. Don't you just love the cargo pants?

Aunt Pat, Uncle Dick, and Katie stopped by as they were passing through Cary today to meet Kaden.

Lucas and I spent the majority of our Christmas day wiping up Kaden's spit up. We had to do an extra load of laundry so we wouldn't run out of burp cloths. Luckily, today has been a better day!
